K-12 School District
Multi-site Campus Environment
Historical Keying Records Migration and Optimization
In the early 2000s, a K-12 district implemented a proprietary lock and key program to improve security and safety. Their intent was to track all physical key systems, from issuance to return, and all associated key holder records across multiple school locations. Over time, these systems and processes became increasingly difficult to manage internally as well as maintain within their IT infrastructure.
By 2022, Facilities and IT leadership recognized that the existing solution required excessive internal IT support, lacked modern usability, and no longer aligned with the district’s operational requirements. So, a change needed to be made before system integrity eroded.
In early 2023, the IT leadership chartered research into evaluating modern, cloud-based alternatives that digitize and centralize proprietary keying records. The goal was to improve data security, streamline workflows and operations, and reduce reliance on IT resources.
The K-12 district transitioned to SecurityRecords, a purpose-built cloud software platform designed to maximize the value of key system data across their environments.
SecurityRecords platform transforms traditional key records, no matter of shape, size, or complexity, into a fully digitized, centralized, and secure ecosystem.
Centralized Cloud Database
Connected Data Architecture
Rapid User Provisioning
Anytime, Anywhere Access
Vendor-Managed Infrastructure
SecurityRecords represents a modern standard for how K–12 institutions manage physical security data. Through digitization, SecurityRecords became the system of record for their key management.
