Project Overview

In 2025, a national Retail company wanted to optimize controls of User access to SecurityRecords and expand utilization across the organization. The challenge was figuring out which system could be integrated to share access credentials. They needed a one-time solution that was simple to implement where 1) Single Sign-On (SSO) is created and Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) data could be seamlessly shared with cloud-based data.

Upon reviewing their internal systems, they identified Okta® SSO and requested integration with SecurityRecords. They also requested a custom data file management protocol where data was securely shared across networks. This simple data share process would allow them to share PCI-compliant HRIS User data through an SSO User.

By creating SSO, they believed this would standardize access to their Cloud Key Management increasing utilization and allow for seamless integration of their HRIS User population.

Primary Okta® SSO connections were created by both IT organizations providing seamless access between networks.

The Retailer then utilized PCI-compliant HRIS User data share to cleanse key holder assignments in SecurityRecords. Additional User accesses were provided at no additional cost. This allowed decentralization of keying records management across the organization. Through expanding this visibility to additional users, they could better drive key custody accountability. All data changes within SecurityRecords are recorded by User for compliance.

This SSO access change to the cloud software solution increased utilization and further maximized the value of their existing key system data across all environments.
